White Shirt and Khaki Linen

As has been decided by Emily and I, every man should own a pair of loose fit khaki linen pants, a loose white shirt and a nice pair of sandals... This isn't the greatest picture of this, but you get the general idea... make note of this white shirt, linen pants, and sandals... a must for every man's wardrobe.

David and The Wheel

So this is David with all those pens in his hair after that bottle of Saki, ahh what crazy fro-haired boys will do when they are slightly smashed... I believe we got up to about 18 pens. So amazing, I wish I had crazy hair.
I spent an hour this evening working on the wheel and had suprisingly good luck when working with it. I made a few mugs and a bowl which was actually very nice, a little on the thin side but very nice still.

Aretha Cures All

I've discovered that no matter how mad or tired or unhappy a mixture of Aretha Franklin's RESPECT and The Pixies' Where is My Mind? makes the day that much better. :) I encourage all to try this.

Birthday Parties

There's a birthday party today. It was my grandpa's brithday on friday, his 80th. So we have decided to have a party to celebrate this. It should be a grand time. Three hours with relatives I only see once every so often. The most excitement of the day will come in the form of my grandfathers sister who is the greediest christian type. She is one those believers who forces religion upon everyone. So it is my goal today, and apparently Becca's to make her day hell. I'm overjoyed by Katie and Banji's Athiest wedding since I get to comment on that and how I am doing a reading of my own poetry. Becca plans to make comments about how she isn't christian. Oh we plan to have so much fun with this. Maybe this birthday won't be so bad. It just amazes me that a religion that teaches so much love and acceptance is filled with such hate and distrust.

I am living with the fear that plagiarism has become so common place that people have just stopped caring. I have spent all week struggling with this idea. So many students don't seem to care that they are just copying what they see without thinking of anything for themselves. I see it in artwork and I see it in writing. I am so terribly frustrated with this entire idea. Where is creativity and original thought with this absurd use of plagiarism? Am I doomed to consider dull images, writing and music for the rest of my life because people have become lazy? Finally who is blame, can I even blame? I feel like I haven't done my part to stop it, even though I am trying. I feel like technology has made things so easy that it's trained people to be lazy, yet here I am sitting on my laptop. This tiny thing that allows me to think and write whatever I want and post it for all to read and copy what they see fit. Maybe honesty has just taken a back seat to knowledge and understanding and reason. I know none of this makes sense but I felt that I had to share this and express my frustrations in something that might reach more people. I end with the thoughts of don't copy, create.

I think my head might explode soon! I can't seem to keep myself busy, I've cleaned the apartment, I've done the dishes, I've taken a nap, I've checked my email 12 times and now I'm on here... well twice. Crazy snow days I have to say I'm not sure they are all they are cracked up to be... perhaps I'm just crazy and don't know any better, but I want 40 new things to do to keep myself busy.

Valentines Day

So yet another Valentines day has come and gone without any outstanding marks. I do have to say I did enjoy working valentines evening. As I was there, there were several gentelman who came into get those last minute gifts for their girl friends. One man came in to get red paper to make a card. First he looked at the 8.5 x 11 cardstock, then he looked at the wonderful decorative papers. Finally he settled on two large sheets of red paper. I said this should make a good valentine. I wished him luck on his building of the Valentine. He then made an odd statement. "I'm going for size over quality." It makes you think, do relationships only work well if many people know, or if they need to be filled with extreme oversized meaningless gestures just to make people happy. I have decided I want a relationship that is completely unknown by anyone outside of myself and the other person. Any takers?

Ahh nothing like a snowday to make one think about what might be really important.

Sunday Morning

It's Sunday morning, I never know how to feel about Sunday mornings. First, it's a day off, a blessing in disguise. It's a day when nothing in particular has to be finished. Although at the same time it is a day when everything has to be finished. There are numerous things to do and not enough hours in the day to finish them. I can't wait for the summer when I will have an excess of free time and no idea as to what to do with it. Well I must go off to exercise, clean, do laundry and everything else that needs to get finished.
